  6. =     My new "toy" is a 1 meg Checkmate MulitRam RGB card.  I <
  7. :got it partly to speed up the copying of template disks.  ?
  8. =Using it with Locksmith 6.0, I can load a disk side into RAM =
  9. ;and then copy it over and over to a disk.  I can label and <
  10. :copy 10 disks on both sides in less than 8 minutes.  I am 9
  11. 7also using the RAM card for AppleWorks, of course, and ;
  12. 9really like the speed obtained without disk access.  But ?
  13. =what is really nice is using the RAM card with PROSEL.  With <
  14. :PROSEL, I can have AppleWorks with MacroWorks, AppleWorks >
  15. <with PinPoint (mainly for the Speller), Ascii Express, Copy =
  16. ;II+, Sensible Grammar, and the PROSEL utilities all in RAM ?
  17. =and easily accessible.  See the files on PROSEL elsewhere on 
  18. this disk.
  19. SOME HOUSEKEEPING?
  20. =     I mentioned above my copying of disks with my new RAM.  <
  21. :I can now copy popular disks ahead of time, and when your >
  22. <order comes in, I can fill it quickly.  That means that you >
  23. <may not get your disks back.  Rather, I will sometimes send @
  24. >a precopied disk and use "your" disk later for someone else.  ?
  25. =We use only double density/double sided disks and verify all 5
  26. 3copies.  However, if for some reason you want your ,
  27. particular disks back, just let me know.  
  28. 1     We have had our first 2 checks returned for =
  29. ;insufficient funds recently.  I try to get your orders out >
  30. <and mailed within 48 hours.  Your checks, however, are kept =
  31. ;for a week or so until I get enough to make it worth while =
  32. ;running them over to our treasurer's house.  Our treasurer :
  33. 8would be more comfortable if we deposited checks first, ?
  34. =waited for them to clear, and then sent the orders.  I don't =
  35. ;want to do this so  please make sure you have the money in <
  36. :your account.  We can't keep TAWUG templates and services (
  37. priced so low without your support.   
  38. 9     Several members have send "preorders" for disks.  I >
  39. <have orders through disk 48 waiting on my disk.  However, I 9
  40. 7am not very comfortable with this.  We do deposit your =
  41. ;preorder checks so you have "spent" your money and have to =
  42. ;wait to the templates are finished (for #47/48 it could be ?
  43. =several months and we can't control this amount of time).  I >
  44. <would be happier if you want to stay on top of the TEMPLATE ;
  45. 9AVALANCE if you would just send a self-addressed stamped ;
  46. 9postcard or envelope to us.  Then when the next template =
  47. ;disk is ready I will drop it into the mail.  When you send =
  48. ;in your order, you can include another postcard or envelop >
  49. <for the next disk.  I'll have less to keep track of and you ?
  50. =will be able to get the new disks within 7 to 14 days.  Fair

  52. CATALOG DISK=
  53. ;     If you have ordered the catalog disk lately, you will ;
  54. 9have noticed a new file called "AW.BIBLIOGRAPHY" on it.  7
  55. 5With this file, I am trying to keep track of as many =
  56. ;AppleWorks articles, reviews, software, and hardware items 9
  57. 7as possible.  If you know of some that are not listed, =
  58. ;please send them on to be included.  Currently I read Call ;
  59. 9A.P.P.L.E., InCider, A+, InfoWorld, Exclusive AppleWorks :
  60. 8Reference, Scarlet, and Nibble.  I'd appreciate help on =
  61. ;articles and reviews from other sources that are available 
  62. to most people.
  63. 8     The annotations are almost finished on the catalog ;
  64. 9disk.  We are planning to do a mass mailing when this is ?
  65. =finished to all the members.  We will do a FREE catalog disk :
  66. 8update to anyone with a labeled catalog disk when it is ?
  67. =returned to us with return postage.  Since we do the current 9
  68. 7catalog with each new template disk, you can keep your $
  69. catalog disk current at all times.
  70. 7     On the membership file we now have a notation for :
  71. 8occupation or special interests  ie.  doctors, lawyers, =
  72. ;teachers, user group, etc.  If your entry is blank and you =
  73. ;would like to be listed in a particular way, please let me >
  74. <know.  This way people with similar interests can find each )
  75. other and share ideas or suggestions.

  77. 7     TAWUG has joined, along with other Apple computer <
  78. :clubs, Apple's new program for clubs.  We will be able to :
  79. 8share news from Apple with you via our AWE file and any :
  80. 8other way we can.  Apple has asked for a listing of our :
  81. 8members so they can do direct mailings to you.  We have ?
  82. =decided to do this because we felt it would be beneficial to =
  83. ;you.  So you can expect some direct mailings from Apple to 
  84. you.  
  85. 6     Another benefit to clubs has been Apple's use of :
  86. 8CompuServe.  They have a section in MAUG for Apple club >
  87. <"Ambassedors" where they will post info of special interest >
  88. <to clubs.  I will read this peroidically and share anything 6
  89. 4of value with you.  As a side benefit, I now have a ?
  90. =CompuServe mailbox where you can reach me and TAWUG.  My box ?
  91. =# is 73527,67.  Since I still have to pay for my time on the <
  92. :system, I will only be checking in about once a week.  If =

  94. <to do so.  (GENIE and TAWUG don't seem to be going anywhere -
